    Anne,

    Thanks for relating your experience.

Do you have any pictures you are able/willing to post? Would love to see you riding in your kilt.

In the old days losing skin due to a bike mishap was called "going to MacDonalds", because the injury looked a bit like hamburger.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Bit of a dilemma for me...been wearing kilts full time for many years and recently become addicted to cycling, what to do...confession, did buy a pair, actually two pairs, of bike shorts but hoping to continue riding in a kilt.

The narrow aprons on the Utilikilts keep me modest for cycling. I sit on the back pleats - keeps 'em outta de spokes. And the aprons stay plastered to the seat post in front. Depending on your padding (yours and the seat - ) and mileage intended, the padded shorts are up to you. I took the mesh liners out of two pair the loose type bike shorts and turned them into padded briefs for anything longer than a couple of miles.
Chaffing is non existant because all stays dry.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.
