I have pretty eclectic tastes too. Today on the ipod I had The Cars, Tom Petty, Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Dropkick Murphys, New Order, the Real MacKenzies and the Rolling Stones.

String Quartet in C sharp minor, Op.131 by Beethoven - Beethoven's greatest work, at least that's how Beethoven himself considered it - played by the Alban Berg String Quartet. Later in the day I might listen to some Bach flute sonatas, or perhaps the Shostakovich eighth conducted by Mraviinsky.

Now that's all class right there!
Ofra Haza was amazing. Such a shame.
I've just put together a CD of 100 MP3's for the car consisting of a variety of genres from ACDC to Abba, Pink to Pink Floyd, Piaf to Pistols, and a bit of classical thrown in.
It's all loosely based on what my little Girl tells me she likes to listen to.
My daughter's favourites at the moment (she's 5 going on 27) are The Clash (London Calling), The Beatles (Hey Jude), The Eagles (Hotel California), Supertramp (Bloody well Right! accompanied by lots of Awwwww's and giggles.) Pink Floyd (Comfortably Numb) and Vivaldi (Four Seasons) and Beethoven (5th & 9th).
She also likes (and in no particular order) Tarkan, Alexandra Burke, The Stones, Stevie Wonder, Lynyard Skynyrd, The Bee Gees, The Who, Donna Summer, Genesis, Candy Dulfer, Barry White, David Bowie, Elton John, Ray Charles, Sinead O'Connor, Bill Withers, Groove Armada, Snowy White, Al Green and many many more. Can't think where she gets it from.
I, on the other hand, having had no input into my daughters musical taste what-so-ever, am partial to a bit of Peat Bogs, Chilli Pipers,
Frank Turner, Chumbawamba, Vox Population and pretty much anything that has a good tune and a decent lyric.
Naaa ahhh mean in'it laike...
Edit: Forgot to mention, has anyone heard the Carlos Santana version of the George Harrison track "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" featuring India Arie and Yo-Yo Ma. I'm not big on covers but this one is particularly exceptional and does huge justice to the Harrison original. Give it a whirl, it would bring tears to a glass eye. It's on the Santana "Guitar Heaven" Album.

Most days Oldies 103.7 San Francisco, though yesteday it was an iheart radio oldies station out of St Louis.
Not my favorite all time music, but cheesy and upbeat enough to work to with the occassional need to crank it up....while not really offending anyone. Can't call the cops for someone jammin' out on Neil Diamond.
Very often listen to mixed cds of Sinatra and co....big fan of Louis Prima, etc.
