If it is not too late, may I suggest The Kilted Warrior. AS far as I know kiltedwarrior.com is still open.

Well, I put in a minimum bid on customkilts. We'll see how it goes.
You, know. This is the kind of information I usually would only share with those closest to me. Xmarks really is one big family.

The only answer I can give you there is... Challenge me.
Recently a manager for a pipe band approached me about getting a kilt made in his pipe bands colors. He was thinking along the lines of having tartan woven special, as they aren't a common set of colors to find in a tartan (purple, orange, and green I believe). I suggested usuing solids, and breaking them up throughout the kilt (i.e. Orange for pleats, green for apron, purple for trim). This is actually one of my current projects. But I love a challenge. I'm actually trained in cutting/draping (tailoring), so it's nice to put other things besides my knowledge of kilt construction to the test.

Chris, that sounds like a challenge alright. Good luck with it. I had a wild idea awhile back of doing something like Pittsburg Kilts did but instead of using solid colors try a plaid for the outside of the pleats, so laid out it looks like plaid, but the underside of the pleats in a complimentary solid color. Still kicking that one around.
