    I've never seen canned haggis
Me too Hamish, the local Tesco, 40 mins in the pan and gastronomic delight. By the way you can use it for breakfast, in beans, on pizza, etc.

The guys at Caledonian Kitchens make the best haggis I've ever had! I tried it last year at The Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. I've been really tempted to try my hand at it. Where I'm from originally There was a "sausage" called boudan. As far as I can tell it was just haggis with rice instead of oatmeal.
    I've survived DAMN near everything

    It's been years...Boudan, Brisket and Beer...the 3 B's...a caravors dream come true!

Sorry, I digress. Yes I've had haggis flashbacks all day. now to go look for some this weekend.

Did I ever say that I wasn't, Rhino?! I'd have bought six at that price, but I knew that freezer space was at a premium!

I can vouch for the aforementioned
    Haggis from www.oatmealsavage.com (Lamb's Haggis).
It's made in Roseburg, Oregon about 3-4
hours south of me (I'm in Portland)....
GREAT STUFF!! And he also sells it in little
links like bratwurst so you can buy a little
and enjoy it. Works great for me as I'm the
only one in the hoose who'll touch the stuff.
I like it with mashed potatoes and gravy with sour
cream and peas or with fried potatoes and a couple
fried eggies for breakfast. Delicious stuff. Texture
is just right and the flavor is terrific.

Muddy, I know you want to catch up with me on the number of posts, but posting the same one twice is really cheating I think

Seriously, sounds like you are a regular haggis eater! Notwithstanding Hamish's statement that "haggis is a food, not a celebration", I confess that I have only eaten it on special occasions like hogmanay or Burns Supper.

I'll let you know how my wife goes with the veggie haggis when she tries the recipe.

I'm going to inflict it on the wife and kid's this weekend.

I can't find Pin head oat meal.I'll just use more of the normal type .No veggie suet either,I'll use more whiskey.

AAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhggggggggg! Big dilemma I've only got a bottle of Ardbeg 17 years, and a bottle of Lagavulin 16 years. What do I do now. I've nothing Cheaper and it seems a shame to waste it in cooking. OH!! But the taste......I'll let you know what happens
    All the Best.....David.
