    MM PV Purchase

Can someone tell me where I can purchase retail yardage of Marton Mills PV, such as USAKilts Casuals are made from? Michele wants to make herself a couple of summer weight tartan skirts from that material.

You will have to e-mail them. I don't think they have an online store as of yet. At least they didn't the last time I ordered from them last summer.

Here in the US, Skye Highland Outfitters in California sells MM PV tartan fabric by the yard.

As the site states, orders must be placed by phone.

Also through Scotweb. For US residents, if under $200 there's no import duty, and under (I think) 2 kg it can be shipped by Royal Mail/USPS.

I'm currently waiting for an order from Scotweb that I placed on 1 Feb 2012. After 1.5 months they sent the wrong tartan which was sent back. Still waiting for the original order, got an email that it was shipped 4-23.

You can always give me a call here at the kilt shop. I carry some Marton Mills fabrics in stock but not all by any means. But I do order in fabrics all the time. I can always add to the list.

Ok, package on the doorstep when I got home today. Four months but the correct tartan this time. Next time I'm giving the Wizard a call.

5 meters of MM PV from them is $200 not including shipping. That's the same as buying 2 casual kilts from rocky. I understand the OP is looking for material for a non-kilt, but still... ouch

Agreed. Overseas shipping for my order direct from Marton Mills last December came to about $50 (4 yards of 16 oz wool, 2 yards of PV). I don't know exactly what MM's current prices are (they will send you a price sheet if you contact them), but even factoring in the cost of shipping Skye Highland Outfitters' price reflects a pretty big markup over what I paid.
