    Question Kid's Kilt pin

Think I may have asked this before but just searched and couldn't find what I was looking for...

My eldest has asked for a kilt pin for his birthday, long way off, but thought I'd better start looking now.

Anyone know any good suppliers of these?
He'd love a crested on, but not sure if you can get them.

If you mean pewter pins Tartanweb is a good source for crested swordy type jobbies. Click the drop down menu to view images of each pin. They also do some beauts in their Wallace collection (click "accessories" to find them and again use the dropdown)

You could also try ebay using the search string "Kilt pin" or if you fancy a pin with a bit of a difference try using "Celtic brooch" or summat similar.

There is also Scotland Kilt Co. and Heritage of Scotland of course.

If you are after heirloom silver I can't really help you as I don't own any. I'm not brave enough to trust £100 worth of kilt adornment to a roll-over pin. I've lost a couple of pewter ones which was enough to break my heart.

On the subject of silver pins, not based on experience, just on drooling: You could try The Kilt Pin Company. They do mainly silver.

Have a look at this thread too, to give you a feel for the more unusual. (If you wade through the first couple of pages you'll find it's not just all about me... )

Don't forget to picturise it when you do get it. I like Kilt pins.

Not sure is this is what you're looking for, but they do have a couple different metals and styles

Thanks guys, but a full size pin looks a bit odd on a small kid, so I'm really looking for smaller. I've heard that you can get kid's pins but not having much luck.

TurboKittie - might drop them a line as their 'shorts' look as though they might just do! Thanks.

What about a clan crest pin designed for wear as a lapel pin? I added this link but have also seen several varieties on e-bay as well. The size may be closer to what you are looking to find.

Tried that as I have one that's normally on my jacket, but he wants a 'real' kilt pin.
Guess I brought him up to have certains standards...the fussy little sod. LOL
