Are we talking about the same thing? I am thinking of an upright mandarin style collar. If so, Yes I agree. The thing is finding one. The cheapest I was quoted was £150 bespoke for one shirt. I can't justify that kind of outlay for something I would only wear once a year.
When I first wore a jabot, I enquired at Moss Bros at Cambridge and it was their recommendation that I passed on. I have asked my wife to modify one of my shirts, but her heart isn't in it, so I haven't pressed it.

Tunic shirt/neckband shirt...they go by several names. In any rate they do not have collars, which are detached and fastened by studs. Jabots have buttonholes and or loops to afix them to the shirt.
