Lamont daywear advice
Hello Lads and Lassies
Just a quick question. I wear my Lamont Modern with full evening wear rig as often as I can but would also like to buy some day wear stuff for possible highland games and clan gathering visits in the future.
I know I can still wear ghillies, black hoes and green flashes, Kilt White shirt, a good tie but what daywear sporran, jacket and waist coat would look good with. Lamont modern. I do own a black argyll but wanted to get more of a daywear look than the black argyll.
Your thoughts and advice as ever will be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks Guardsman.
A good old picture. I would probably like to go more formal than jumper. However an interesting picture of The Duke of Rothesay in his later years if you look on a website called kilted style, he is in daywear rig but with and formal full dress sporran , would be interested to know what you all think of that look, should it be less formal sporran in the day or not? What Tartan is he in in those pictures?
Also any further advice on daywear modern Lamont appreciated...

Daywear is daywear regardless of which tartan you wear with it. For dressier occasions, a tweed jacket, vest, dress shirt and tie, nice day sporran, brogues. At the other end of the spectrum, as Guardsman suggested, a jumper (or sweater, depending on which side of the pond you reside), or, in warmer weather, a shirt you would wear to the venue whether or not you were kilted, day sporran, again, and footwear appropriate to the event.

Yes I recently enjoyed wearing my kilt for a completly informal event which I had never previously done and the jumper look worked well. I've had a quick look on the web and a good lovat green tweed seems to work nice with Lamont modern. Interesting to see The Duke of Rothesay in both dress sporran and leather day sporran whilst wearing the same tweed daywear rig. I think both sporrans work well. I reside in UK by the way. Thank you Gentlemen for your comments so far.

I would steer away from the barathea argyll and the "semi formal" sporran for day wear. I would find myself a nice tweed jacket, optional waistcoat and day sporran, either black or brown (hunting sporrans are always a safe bet)
My standard daywear is below. Fortunately I have a number of tweed jackets and waistcoats to mix and match as I desire
And Yes, I know it's dark but it's still what I wear during the day

Ohhhhh, I knew your seasons were the opposite of ours in the North Mike, with this photo I just assumed your definitions of night and day were opposite too!

Ok Ok back on topic!
For some additional photo help, here is one of a few of us in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. There are 3 different day wear looks in this one photo (I would consider Jeff's and mine to be similar enough in composition to be considered the same).

Your choice to check photos of The Duke of Rothesay for inspiration is also a good one. It was offered to me when I first came here too, athough I am certain you won't find any of him standing around with his sporran open, as I am!!
