I wore a uniform for 18 years. After leaving the PD (even days off were black BDU's and black tee shirt) I was at a loss when I decided to leave becuase I didn't have "normal" clothes. At work now I still wear black pants (docker tpye) and solid color (ALWAYS!) shirt. Different colors but it still seemed like a uniform. When I told my wife I was going to start wearing my kilts more on the weekends she laughted. On one Saturday I stood there at the closed thinking. She asked what I was doing, I pulled out one of the kilts and asked her "What color shirt would go well with this?" She laughed and just shook her head.
My how things have changed!

Surely someone of your obvious perspicacity....
Heck Blu, I'll have to look that word, who says that you don't get an education here?
Nice to read your post Mark, do you wear a kilt each time you attend SDC, I mean practice sessions too (assuming you have them as we do here).
I've worn a kilt to every SDC meeting since day one, but other men tend to save the kilt for demonstrations and formal gatherings.
Personally I couldn't imagine dancing in trousers - yuk, it would take away the whole 'spirit' of it for me.

Graham, it varies . . . now that I have a lighter weight kilt, I do wear it more often. I agree, it's a lot more fun dancing in a kilt!! One or two of the other guys wear kilts to practice.
