Chas, these are a great find! Wish I had seen these earlier, I'm not sure I have the time to go for them, my wedding is in 23 working days exactly!

Went down to a great vintage clothes shop here today and had a play around with a couple of stock ties they had. Might go ahead and buy one online (half the price) and try it with different knots.

Tried on the Montrose doublet again last night. It seems quite a short jacket, doesn't it? Think I'll have to get loops sewn on for a belt, too. Not sure what to do to stop it riding up whenever I lift my arms above shoulder height though. There are some clips on the jacket which presumably I should attach to something (the kilt? the belt? the sporran chain?).

Will also have a look online at these tunic shirts and see what there is. £150 is definitely too much though.

Who would have guessed it, my fiancée is spending far less time on her wedding outfit than me... the result of marrying a Scotsman.
