I thought I'd post the photos Artificer sent before sending my re-bagged MOD cantle, as his photos are without doubt better than those I'd be able to take.

I'd asked for a simple dark chocolate brown sporran, (similar in appearance to the one Artificer recently re-bagged for Jack Daw) along with a matching strap. Jack Daw's is a pigskin beauty, and I was taken with the design, but wanted something that would match my brown leathers for daywear. If you've ever dealt with him, you'll know how easy Artificer is to work with. He verified my requests, and when the materials I'd chosen required a slight re-design of the side tassels, he contacted me to make sure the workaround was acceptable. As you can see from the photos below, it's considerably more than acceptable... It's a beauty that I find elegant in its simplicity. Thanks again, Scott, for another heirloom sporran. You're always a pleasure to deal with and your work is absolutely top notch!

Thank you, Shaun. I'm pleased that it meets expectations.
Hopefully we'll see some "in-action" pix in the near future (hint)

Are you somehow impugning my work by saying that I'm secretly corrupting the members of X-Marks with works tainted by the trans-dimensional horror that is C'thulhu?!?

If so, I'll let the evidence speak for itself... oh, wait. :cthulhusmiley:

Nevermind all that, I categorically deny any subversive attempt to warp the sanity of my fellow board members.

Well, one does need a hobby to divert one's attention from work. ESPECIALLY when one's work is in the home.

It's been quite a busy spring, so much so that I've not had a lot of time to post.

Here are a few of the things that have come off the bench recently.
    Angora Goat soft sporran

    Cantle detail

    Interior storage

I really like this "soft" style, as you get the benefits of full storage without the hard "plate" of a standard dress sporran, so if it's not packed to the gills it's quite flexible and light to wear.

    Skunk with commissioner supplied crest.

    detail shot

And finally for now, a classic day sporran in soft brown cowhide in the "Lugosi" pattern. With matching belt and strap.

I have never seen Angora goat hair that was not kinky. Has it been straightened? It looks more like the long-haired Chinese goat hair that I'm seeing these days.
