accessories for my fiancee and kilt hose opinion

    Good Evening Xmarkers,

I am in the process of getting my first and only kilt in Grant Hunting (Campbell, Black Watch ancient) from the STM. I was wondering if it would be appropriate to get my fiancee a scarf in matching tartan, even though we are not married? Also, would red and green diced hose be appropriate with my tartan, for formal or day wear? I appreciate any input/suggestions. Best regards, Nick Pratt

She's your fiancee. Usually that means you're going to be married. Absolutely appropriate and loving!

A scarf is good,a shash or a shawl would be better IMHO for her, after looking about it's what I have purchased for my intended. As to hose with that tartan for formal wear, green and black or blue diced would be first on my list, second would be red and white.I don't like the look of the red and green my self but that's just me.For the hose I have a pair in bottle green/black diced from USAK that are tops in my book and the price is nice, but also Dunadd tradeing CO. has Blackwatch diced hose, the red and white has always said marching band to me.

Sure but a stole would be best, or a shawl.

Very much for formal. Good choice.

Thank you gentlemen. I think I will go with the scarf for now, as it is a surprise and if she seems pleased I will get her a stole as well. We do intend to marry, I just wanted to be appropriate in the meantime. As for the red and green diced hose, I happen to have a pair of heirloom quality hand knit full hose in those colors from another generation, so if they are seen as appropriate they will have to do. I will see what they look like paired with the kilt when it arrives. photos will certainly be posted here in approximately 8-12 weeks. cheers, Nick Pratt
