Why Xmarksthescot ? :?:

A recent post gave me the idea of doing a quick tour around a few of the other kilt related forums. I find it noteworthy that xmarksthescot receives many more posts each day than the others. Is this because:

1. people who wear kilts are more outgoing and hence more verbose,
2. Hank casts a watchful eye and carries a big stick to keeps things topical,
3. through natural selection, interested people have randomly decided on xmarks as a common communication platform,
4. the format of xmarks is better than the other forums,
5. the wearing of kilts is more interesting and complex that other non-bifucated attire,
6. xmarks gets hit by more search engines,
7. xmarks has more of a celtic membership,
8. xmarks covers the interests and concerns of the major casual kiltmakers,
9. it is easier to post images for folks without a personal website,
10. xmarks has Graham on the team.

11. xmarks has Hamish as Headmaster of M.U.A. (mens unbifurcated attire)!

What have I missed? There may be other reasons or a combination of the above. Why do you post here? (It ain't my good looks or charm ) For the "lurkers", why don't you post here?

Blu

(another one of of my boring, analytical interrogative posts!)

For me, the folks here are more convivial company, the forums aren't overly strict and it's just plain fun here. Graham is an absolute plus too.

I post here because I like the company. I feel that I could sit down and lift a Guinness, tea, coffee or whatever with each and everyone. Have a good discussion with good friends. Distance is of little importance, in fact it is a plus, because I know anywhere I go I can find some like minded kilt wearers.

All 200 members whether posters or not show a desire to learn and share the joys of kilting. All are class acts (especially Hamish) of various stripes and backgrounds. We kid each other (OK mostly Graham) but it is done for fun and for sharing of experience and knowledge.

I also get to exercise my fingers by posting, knowing full well that I cannot keep up with Graham.

Boys! Boys! Come on now, you're making me blush ..... and it's too darned hot here for blushing!

It must have been the hottest day of the year so far - my Max/Min thermometer is registering 31ºC. I've been gardening all day (yes Graham, in one of my older Utilikilts, not shorts! Well, I couldn't could I? I don't own any!), mostly trimming my 7' high hedges, and I am exhausted!

A quick shower and a few glasses of Shiraz and I am ready to catch up with you chaps - although I'm still in a rosy glow, not from the wine but the glorious sunshine!

The success of "X" is down to, in the first place: Hank, but also to all the new blood that has come along. Where were all you guys before "X"?

Thanks Hank, and thanks to all of you who contribute.

I prefer 'Xmarks' simply because it does exactly what it says on the tin. No nasty surprises!!!

I would happily lift a glass with all of you - and hope to achieve that aim one day

Thank goodness we've a computer at work or I'd not survive.

This is a big one. We're all men, happy to be men and want to look like men, not like Shirley Temple. We all have our favorite types of kilts and fabrics but the common denominator is they're mens garments so the real differences are almost nil. The folks here are people I'd like to hang out with at the tavern.
