Got a source for kilt liners
I have found a business than will make custom kilt liners for us in Mt. Morris, NY. - Katies's Mercantile
I worked with Katie and I think we have it down pat.
The turn around is quite fast, but will slow a bit during planting and harvesting seasons.
Covered elastic waist.
They have a wide variety of fabrics and colors to choose from.
My preferred fabric is the heavy t-shirt cotton type knit. Will sop up a lot of sweat and body oils, keeping the kilt clean.
If you get this, and intend on drying in the dryer add an inch or two to the length - it shrinks in length but not width.
Hang dry it stays true to length.
Current price is $12 each plus shipping ( which is actual postage estimate )
To order, e-mail Katie with questions and your needs.
I specify material, color, waist, length and 60 inch hem circumference.
Payment is by Paypal - she sends a bill.
Web Site: www.katiesmercantile.com The kilt liners aren't there yet.
Email: katiesmercantile@hotmail.com

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Know you put a lot of work into this. Thanks for that. Will be ordering some soon. I love my kiltliner/underkilts for all the reasons on earlier threads. Need more for longer trips like this one I'm on.

Thank you for sharing this. I was actually thinking of something like this when I saw one person post his "loin cloth" photograph.
A few questions, as I'm still a noobie: Why specify a color for the liner? Are there other fabric available (other than the heavy, t-shirt cotton)?
Again, thank you.

Loin cloth - guilty -
She has other colors that may be less obvious when flashed with a particular kilt.
She came up with 3 kinds of cloth that should work. She can describe the others better than I. Seemed like 2 cottons and a cotton poly blend that was a lot thinner and not stretchy.

I got mine. Ordered three black cotton - really like the covered elastic and hem. Ones I had before from the out of business J-Dez had open elastic on the waist and overlock instead of a hem. Thread came off. This is quaility work from Katie Gerow for $12 each. Heck of a deal. Very pleased.
The website is above but kilt liners/underkilts aren't listed. Just email her.
Wore one for the first time tonight and it wore well - didn't even notice it. Love the "protection with FREEDOM."

Same here. I wore one of Katie's kilt liners yesterday (first time out with a wool kilt) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I did have to make a small adjustment. My kilt and liner are the same length. At first, I wore both at the place on my waist. I found this a bit uncomfortable because the waistband of the liner was directly under the top of the kilt. So, I pulled the liner a bit higher (just enough so the garter was above the top edge of the kilt). No more pressure points. Also, it had the added bonus of ensuring that my slip didn't show even as I boogied on the dance floor.

That works. She followed the measurements I sent her so no problems here with length. Wore one of Katie's again this morning for hiking and never noticed it - no irritation at all. Can't understand why these aren't standard with kilts and why kilt vendors don't offer them. Common sense - protection - FREEDOM....
