What a great idea, and a really pleasing tartan too! I like the one in the first post a bit better, but regardless the colors really work well together, and the meaning of each is special. Well done!

I particularly like the inspiration behind the design. Autism is baffling and painful for the person who lives in that world, and also for parents and families. I'm sure I will never be able to fathom the world my daughter lives in, but if buying a bit of fabric could raise some funds to find answers and provide support, then count me in.
EPITAPH: Decades from now, no one will know what my bank balance looked like, it won't matter to anyone what kind of car I drove, nor will anyone care what sort of house I lived in. But the world will be a different place, because I did something so mind bafflingly eccentric that my ruins have become a tourist attraction.

My son is autistic, so I'm definitely in for this.

I had several children with autism in the schools where I taught and led over the years. It is frustrating and even frightening. Your work is a positive step, and the tartan is beautiful.
Every blessing!

Great cause, and I like the second one the best, a really nice balance overall, and it looks like it would pleat well, but since I am not a kilt maker, I don't know for sure.

Excellent designs!! If I had the funds I would get a kilt for my son in the second option. My son was diagnosed autistic at 18 months old (he turns three in a couple of weeks).

I like 42739 best myself. Is crossposting to other forums OK?

TurboKittie,
Does it screw up your meaning to move the pink to the middle of the white section? I find that more aesthetically pleasing.

Now I have to save up, as I really want a mini kilt for myself in this...and a Kilt for Mickey.
I like the look of it myself.
I don't mind cross posting, though I have not registered this or anything and am trusting no one else rushes to do so with this.
The pink in the middle of the white section is nice, but leaving the white part open and blank. I think it would make for absolutely stunning reveal pleats no matter which way you did them.

Gonna have to really get around to getting my traditional kilts done. First with practice material (cotton Black Watch, cotton generic black and grey tartan) then with the Rlyeh Sett. Then maybe I can get time for another out of this....
