    I showed your tartan ideas to a few people this evening that are involved with autistic children in my area and they thought it was a wonderful idea. The meaning you attached to the threading they found to be very thoughtful.

    Even my wife has said it can be on my list of kilts to buy in the future or when we win the lottery.

    I sent the image to my daughter. For those of you who know the sort of humour that surrounds autism, I'll venture to say that she'll get back to me.......some time, maybe yesterday.

    {For those of you who don't get it, please don't be offended: I'm not making jokes at anyone's expense--ask an autistic person, after they stop laughing}
    EPITAPH: Decades from now, no one will know what my bank balance looked like, it won't matter to anyone what kind of car I drove, nor will anyone care what sort of house I lived in. But the world will be a different place, because I did something so mind bafflingly eccentric that my ruins have become a tourist attraction.

    I think the designs are great, I think autism is not given the level of understanding it deserves. In my opinion, I think the white field in the third design is really good - I did like the double pink lines from the first two designs and wish they could be reincorporated into the final design. Or if not maybe make the single line a little bolder, just to make sure the girls are well represented. It is a tartan design I would definitely wear with pride.

    You're right, I didn't notice the pink had gotten squeezed down to only one line in the last one. I moved it a bit so that there are again two lines of pink running through.

    Oh I'm sorry. Poor guy must be so horribly frustrated. I remember how bad our girl got simply because she couldn't communicate. Once we requested the school stop trying to throw everything at her (to see which would stick so to speak) and concentrate on a modified version of sign language, her screaming and tantrums declined at a rapid pace. She's really good with signs now, and it seems to make her very happy that the signs mean the same thing here at home as they do at school.

    I hope they find something that works for your nephew.

    I really like AA1.5 It's mee fave so far... I'm not affected directly by autism but do have a bit of first hand in other conditions in the special educational needs spectrum. I greatly admire what you are doing here.

    Edit: Speaking of signing. Had a reasonable grasp of Makaton 20 odd years ago. Shamefully I've kind of forgotten it now as the immediate need to use it subsided.

    More likely after you forgot you sent it.

    Also, any word on progress on this tartan?
