where to find used military kilts?

I'm considering buying a used military kilt. For some reason, I feel like I want to try out a high-rise, 8-yard, 18-oz, military box-pleated kilt.

I've seen a couple random ones on eBay, as well as a very few posted elsewhere online. But I'm not having much luck locating vendors/websites who would have them for sale. Do you have any online sources that deal in ex-military regimental kilts?

Bugpiper, an eBay merchant often has them, I believe. I think he also has a website. I bought a few things years ago from him, and he was easy to deal with.

He was one of the first places I looked. But unfortunately, he only has one or two actual surplus military kilts. The rest seem to be new productions, which don't really seem to have the same level of quality or construction as the older ones (just judging by the pics).

What's weird is that I can find a lot of folks out there who will have one or two random military kilts. But no one that carries a true inventory of surplus kilts.

Yeah, those are the same outfit. Exact same products in the exact same sizes. They are not bad, but the selection is pretty limited.

They also sell under this name too: http://www.fieldtextiles.co.uk/shopscr119.html (big lulz at the pic of the guy wearing his kilt backwards on that page!)

The kilt isn't on backwards, just the sporran... at least that's how I see it (no button's or seam on shirt). Since we can't see the hands or knees we'll never know.

It's the sporran, if you increase the size of the image in a image editing program, you can see the backs of the man's elbows....which need a touch of lotion.

Thanks for this question, Tobus! I've had this same thought recently and haven't had any luck in searching. You actually beat me to the punch. We have military surplus stores everywhere, and I've always wondered if the UK has the same, or if service folk tend to keep their service kilt, or do they get recycled back into the service. Are the military kilts personally issued, or do they get turned back into the supply system?

I'd like to get my hands on one of these bad boys myself.
