    OK, wow, amazing thread! My thanks to all who contributed pictures, vids and advise. This thread truly is an fantastic resource for those of us with, how shall I say this, "limited skills of fashion".

    I've read every page, and I'll go back over it again to help me with my purchasing and wearing decisions. First thing I want to do? Get a "lifetime" sporran ...

    Looking back to the previous page and those two pictures of Charles wearing Balmoral tartan: I wonder where the little boy’s kilt is now. I trust it is being kept in mothballs for the next young prince.
    And while I am not personally a fan of Balmoral tartan, I do like the effect Rothesay creates by wearing claret hose with the kilt.

    I have always thought the Balmoral tartan was rather smart - especially with a pair of claret hose in which you speak of. Steel grey, with bits of claret in a chequered pattern on the cuff looks quite nice too.
