    Anyone want Hunting Stewart tartan?

I'm wondering if anyone else would be interested in a USA Kilt in Hunting Stewart (AKA Duncan's tartan for Graham.)

I'm interested in one, but Rocky wants to know if anyone else would want to get a kilt in that tartan so he can order the poly/viscose.

I probably can't order for about a month, so it's not a right-this-minute sort of deal. Just post if you're interested, so Rocky and I can get an idea of who's interested.

    Thanks!
    Rufus

Just FYI, Rufus... Stewart Hunting looks fantastic pleated to stripe... If you're inclined. I'm hoping to get some pictures of mine taken this weekend that might be suitable to post.

Thanks for the info Blu! I'll look for the pics!

I seem to remember somebody saying that pleating to the stripe makes your butt look big. Is this true? I don't need any more help in that department, trust me.

Rufus, yeah it does. It puts horizontal stripes across the back. I won't wear a kilt pleated to the stripe for that reason. I'd look like I was smuggling pumpkins

Sorry there fella's, that's incorrect. Pleating to the stripe (regimental pleating) takes one of the prominant vertical lines and centers it on each pleat exposure. This repeats this all across the backside. This is the alternate to pleating to the sett which repeats the tartan pattern across the backside. Check out any pictures of pipe bands on the net and you'll get a good idea what it looks like. If anything, pleating to the stripe makes you look thinner! 8)

    Cheers,

It depends on the Tartan, I have Seen a Leather Neck Tartan that was Pleated to the Stripe and it had yellow Stripes Verticly, but i also say a tartan that was pleated to the stripe and it was awful
looked like 2 large green stripes going horizontaly
i think it just depends on the tartan and what stripe on the tartan it is pleated to.

this is pleated to the set
where as this is to the stripe

not the best, but all i can find but if the tartan led itself to it regimental pleating would look great but i think that having a bright contrasting stripe to pleat to makes the diffrence. [/img]

I forgot to thank you for the visuals Miah. I'd been trying to imagine it, but it wasn't really coming together in my head. Pleated to the stripe really does have a totally different look to it.
