Kilts and the wind
Elva, my youngest son, his daughter and I spent yesterday in Seaside, Ore. Walking on the beach, flying a kite, etc.
I wore my above the knee length black Utilikilt.
The wind was blowing close to what seemed to be typhon speed(well maybe 20 to 25 MPH). So anyway
wearing a short kilt in a high wind leaves a person open to a lot of embarrassment.

But whats most important, is that your son and his daughter got a good laugh out of it, I'm sure.

sig...
Blu...
I like your new Signature... I liked Bear's quote about kilts not being costumes, but I didn't think that took the "feeling" far enough. I think you nailed it... A whole new lifestyle.
I had an idea for a t-shirt a while back...

I agree Rocky, great sig. on Blu's posts, kilts do change your life.
Robert, if you have a choice of kilts to wear, choose for the weather.
When I go hiking in the Tassie highlands I'll take more than one kilt in the car. When I arrive I check the weather, if it's cold/windy I'll take the heavy kilt, if warm or light winds - the lighter kilt.
The weather cona change very quickly in the mountains.
Basically - it is dressing for the weather.
But some things cannot be controlled - so just enjoy them (and wear underpants).

When I recieved my second kilt, the 9 yard 16 oz heavy weight, the wind was blowing a steady 12-15 mph and gusting at 25+, those pleats barely lifted, to the disappointment of several visiting ladies .

I am a stunt kite flyer myself, but have not flown for three years due to 3 farking whiplashes from being rear ended 3 times in 3 years in my truck. Never thought about the kilt flying too.
What kind of Kites were you flying?
