Rocky's teflon treated PV - awesome - easy clean

I was out water leveling neighbors lawn yesterday with my "fire hose" nozzle, spreading the high spots around.
The soil here is sandy clay. I looked down and had splattered this red mud all over my lower half including the Spirit of Scotland casual. Figured it would be pretreat and wash when I got done.
By the time I did finish, the spots were dry and most of the mud had falled off - Hmmm. I tried the vacuum with the brush attachment - The rest of the spots came right out. I looked again in good light this morning - not a trace.
Red iron clay plus water will stain just about anything, this dark kilt may be hiding some of it, but I think the factory teflon treatment saved my bacon - rust stains, once set, don't normally come out.

Will see how the white cotton Juzo hose I had on, fare. May become another dye job candidate.

The iron in clay or the iron in blood--none of it sticks around on Rocky's kilts!

Absolutely! A fine kilt to start with, but spilled blood is transformative.

If a lady asks you to "leave the kilt on" its best to be wearing a kilt made from Marton Mills Teflon coated PV.....nuf said.

Thanks Rocky...just needed gentle cycle in the washing machine with a hang dry.

Well hey, it was pitch black dark...we'd stolen away from the group on a forest retreat....young folks don't know from the passionate fun us olde folks can have.....

Is all the PV teflon coated regardless if its made by MM or not?

I don't buy material from Pakistan and China (the other sources for PV tartan cloth), so I can't speak about their raw cloth, but the Pakistani kilts I have seen aren't Teflon coated. All MM PV is teflon coated, as is most of their wool (some Scottish mills do this with wool as well).

The only other source I've seen for PV is a place in Canada (NOT Fraser / Kirkbright). They weave the Canadian tartans in 8 oz PV. I am certain they don't teflon coat it, but at the same time, 8 oz is too light for a kilt so I wouldn't make a kilt from that cloth anyway.
