Is it going to be any dryer on that side of the pond when I get there in late July?
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

North and West of the Great Glen we could do with rain. I know down South have had serious amounts of rain but we are dry. Probably by July it will be pouring with rain up here! Perhaps we might be able to drown several trillion trillion midgies(I kid you not!) with a good deluge.

    What an event

This was my first camping event and first music event. (I worked on it being my first drink/buzz event but was evidently too cautious. Certainly wasn't for the lack of John's guidance! You know he is a true mate to share his flask and ale and wine and, and...). It was a great and wonderful thing for me to experience. I would camp again gladly. I owe John so very much, thanks mate!

You simply would have loved him on stage. Oh sure his ego got even bigger if you can imagine that. They wanted someone on stage and I tapped his arm and the man took off like a rocket in a kilt. He really sings pretty darn good! The audience loved him and it was like being with a rock star from there on what with folks telling him how great it was. I can't remember reading this thread but John did you tell them your name the group gave you? I am so pleased my great mate got to be on stage with one of his favs. It was the highlight for me! I am not into 3/4 of folk music but I will basically do anything and try anything plus I was with great people!

And then there is the bonus of being in a sleeping bag in a tent with a kilted man standing near. HAHAHAHAHA! He has ruined me ya'all!

If only you could have seen the real mud situation... and of course the closing hours saw beautiful sunny weather.

I enjoyed those pics! It must be quite a kick to perform onstage with one of your fave groups.

    I don't have a big ego. I'm just gregarious.

Great pics, you certainly seem to have had a good time there.
I've got tickets for the Lomond Folk Festival in Balloch at the end of July, my tickets are for Skerryvore on the Saturday night, they are a kilted band from Tiree playing Scottish Rock, on the Sunday night, Ally Bain and Phil Cunningham bring the curtain down on the festival.

Thank you, John, for sharing these (and your many other) photos. You are definitely living the life and in sharing it, you encourage me to do the same. Cheers!
