What if you're going the other way? Can you move them a couple inches on each side without affecting the aprons too much? (Down 35 pounds so far, and shooting for another 15.)
I intend to order a new kilt when I hit my goal, but I'd still like to keep this one.

I believe you're talking about shrinking the waistline on your kilt? If so, that is what is being talked about.

Yes, I am talking about making it smaller. Steve Ashton's post, the one before mine, was talking about making it bigger and the effect on the aprons. I was referring to that post.

Smaller works well. John at Keltoi has both of mine now for a "buckle-move shrink" I get 'em back tomorrow or Saturday!

Nope. Still just 4 inches.
I moved my outer buckle/inner strap 3 inches last Spring. My kilt is pleated to the sett, so this meant that the center line on the back was going down over my right butt cheek. And of course the belt loops were way off. But unless someone is checking out your tush, I don't think many people are likely to notice. If your kilt is pleated to the stripe, I really don't think anyone will be able to tell.
