I'm one of those weirdo's that salivates when seeing a breakthrough hair simulation. And studying 3d animation and CGI just made that worse. I've seriously been waiting for this movie since the first teaser.
I believe I read somewhere that for King Fergus and his clothing the animators used more layers of amination than any character ever done before. Whatever that means.........

Yes that's the one, but remember this is only a computer rendering

It's interesting to see that the fabric that was used on one of the press launches , was actually printed, not woven but it is the same design

maybe i should post this question in general kilt as a topic, but why don't they make a thick cotton the thickness of wool as another material to make kilts from? And woven tartan .a cotton woven tartan?

Any tartan , that is the design, not the cloth can be woven in any fibre, it doesn't have to be wool. Cotton wasn't exactly known for being native in Scotland but wool was everywhere so that was the first choice. Wool has a number of excellent attributes, it can be warm and waterproof, it doesn't burn easily or well.
I wouldn't be surprised if Disney created a range of products in cotton, there is no reason why they shouldn't!

I wonder why Disney did not use Ferguson Tartan - The King in the movie is King Fergus and he would have worn a Fergusson tartan , Just wondering - would have been cool , I would have match when I go see it tomorrow. lol

Hmmm. Flick opens in my little town today. Have to do some research to see if its worth the price of a senior admission...if I go, will go with my "tartan skirt/kilt" on.....
