O.K. I'm convinced! I was looking for less expensive, cool, and I wouldn't be as timid with the iron as I am with my Atlanta Kilts kilt.

I agree that the green is basically unseen to the eye. But I like it.

So let me regroup after seven pages. That is the Pixar tartan John is wearing in the linked pic? So that means the tartan has already been woven somewhere somehow.
I chose not to go to our local premiere of Brave last night. After reading many reviews felt I'd be bored at my age. Anyone seen it and have a review? Are kilts constant or just shown occasionally?

The tartan was woven months ago. It just was not formally added to the National Register until yesterday, timed to coincide with the release date of the film.

I'm just back from seeing Brave, and thought it was quite good. Yes, it's geared toward children, but there is plenty of humor that will appeal to all ages (I'm 44). It has a good, solid plot with a fair amount of action, too. I'd recommend it to almost anyone. My only (fairly) major beef is that while the King and Queen speak in a Scottish accent (as do the supporting characters), but their daughter, the Princess, speaks with an Irish one.
All the men wear kilts all the time.

Riverkilt; Yeah, every adult male in the movie wears a kilt in every frame of the movie. (Well, there is one scene where they don't)

Riverkilt, If you're for a kilt show, it's going to disappoint you. It's an animated movie about a princess coming of age and discovering what is and is not important. It happens to have a medieval Scottish setting, and all male characters wear kilts throughout. Well, most of the time. But that's not the focus of the movie.
Without giving away too many plot spoilers, it has some fun Scottish scenery (animated, of course, but still quite amazingly done). It's got one games scene that is brief except the archery. There are some great little touches like Pictish symbols on various stones, great animation of hair, clothing, stone, etc. with lots of detail. It's also got a nice story. But it's not trying to be anything but what is: entertainment with a positive message about family bonds and connections. If you're not a guy who likes Pixar movies, you won't like this one just because it's got kilts and a Scottish setting. My 2 cents.

I was a pixar fan when Toy Story came out, but I'm not happy that they sold out to Disney.

***. I absolutely agree, the animation was fantastic but overall I was disappointed in the movie. Some scenes are too scary for youngsters.

I can't say I was disappointed in the movie, although the wife thinks the story was a bit light, but I have to agree that it has some scary bits that might be too much for some of the young ones. I admit I didn't realize it was rated PG and not G when I got the tickets. My grandsons, 3 & 5, enjoyed it, but admitted to covering their eyes during some of the scary parts. (spoiler alert) The scary parts are fight scenes with a bear that are quite graphic. There are a few scenes with animated nudity, but those are more comically than offensive.
