I don't want to post direct links to the photos, since they are not mine, but HERE are some rather nice candid pictures taken of the London Scottish before the Great War, along with a bit of regimental information I'd not heard before.

Wonderful photos of these brave men wearing the hodden grey. It's eerie to wonder if these chaps ever made it back home, when so many did not.

I'm also curious about this photo as his harness doesn't appear to be secured by thigh straps. Perhaps there's a bit more to the story?
