We were on the Cotswolds, not ten miles away from you, Derek, on Saturday at another wedding! The Cotswolds are almost "home" to me and come a very, very close second, to the Highlands.

Thats amazing we were so close Jock. Thats quite a drive for you. Did you do it one day or spread it over two. Fortunately its not that far from us via M4/M50/M5, and that was it. Took just under 2hrs not rushing.
Please do let Elaine and myself know next time you are down this way. It would be lovely to meet up even if its just for a few hours.
Take care
Derek
We did a two stage journey down, starting with the Royal Highland Show on Thursday and then stopped near Penrith for the night and then we had to drive through some grim weather(M6-M5) down to Gloucestershire on the Friday. We stay on the farm with my sons. We returned last night(Monday)after a longer than usual 10+ hour drive------diversions in Glasgow added an hour. We normally try to journey through the night as the traffic is almost non existent and do it in one go------unless we can divert to do a spot of fishing, or there is a grouse to shoot. Indeed yes, we must meet up and I do keep an eye on your comings and goings to see if we can bump into each other.I had my eye on Tintern, but I don't think its going to happen, but as they say, "one of these days".

Yes indeed Jock .. Tintern is looming for us two weeks this sunday coming ... where does the time go .. heads down for a refresher rehearsal before then.
Jock, we do have our annual Folk Festival 21/22 Sept ... you and your family will be more than welcome to come along and join us if you were free.
