Joining my university's women's rugby team

I went to my university's SOAR (Orientation) and we all went to the gymnazium to look at the school sports and clubs. As I was walking by wearing my work out clothes and minding my own business, a member of the university's women's rugby team runs up to me and drags me to their booth about the rugby team and explains, "You would be perfect to play a forward on our rugby team! You should tottaly come out to our practices and join the team!". Never has this happened to me before, and it tottaly syked me out that someone thought that I was worthy of joining an athletic team! So starting on my next Monday off of work, I'll be going to the practices and learning the game Definately feeling like a Georgia Southern Eagle!

    GOOOO Blue! ONE MORE TIME!

I might just have to make a trip down US25 for a match! (Brother is GSU alumni. Dad is North Dakota State Uni doctoral candidate, so I have to make the trip down for that football game anyway...)

So I take it you've been to a GSU football game ;) When I was in highschool in JROTC whenever there was a home game at Paulson stadium we would go out there early the following morning and cleaned the stadium... all of it lol. But we'd get 20 dollars each and free tickets to the next home game.

Good on you, Elizabeth. Have fun. Betch you'll get a "glow" from the workouts, especially in summer.

Played Rugby for 30 years. Had to give it up at 40 because I found the knocks that I used to shake off in six minutes were taking six weeks to mend. I miss it madly and still glean great enjoyment from spectating. It is by far, the finest of ball games. Good for you, you'll love it once you work out the complexities.

I am a former rugby forward too. Played for many years as tight head prop. My back and neck give me a bit of gyp from time to time but I wish I could still play.

Good luck with the training and look forward to hearing of your progress.

Good on you, Elisabeth. Let them come, let them pass then take them by the knees but watch the studs.
