Happy to be in this Community!
I first was aware of a kilt when a Piper brought us into the Hall at School, USIU _Europe Watford England...then I heard the Pipes playing under a tree...and the Kilt was forever etched in my mind...and heart.
Then
My Mom Bobbin laces the old way...she taught me and I made it more modern. Mine is a weave of colour which I thought looked like tartans...so I began my journey. I started to research the setts and found this site but didn't enter in . Simply enjoyed the comraderie and respect.
I love to be at Highland games and volunteer here at the San Diego Highland games where this fellow I worked with talked about being connected to kilted sites so I decided, let's give it a go ...
Since I already appreciate the athletics, the competitions in music and dance the pagentry and pride of Clans...and I recognize they all have the tartan in common..and the Kilt is an expression of this community I decided to join.
I don't think there is anything more beautiful than a Man who stands straight, tall and proud in his Kilt..the colours of his family and heritage. The way the pleats fall...yes, I read somewhere on this site that the pleats Dance...and so they do...
So, I volunteer at the Games, I bobbin Lace tartan colours and I appreciate how a Kilt looks on a Warrior. I appreciate the tone of this community...my Dad was a Marine (always a Marine) and so appreciate the military focus.
Thank you to everyone who has come before me...I have enjoyed your posts, information and knowledge....and Service to what you believe in.
Thank you and I look forward to being a part of what has been created here.
Cheers
K

Welcome from the Highlands of Montana.
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.
