I absolutely hate the PC outfit, so I've never even considered buying one. If I ever buy a more formal outfit, It ll be a sheriffmuir jacket. Wore the formal combination of the Argyll in scotland numerous times and never had complaints. Argyll is more versatile too, as has been mentioned before.
Most men, they'll tell you a story straight through. It won't be complicated, but it won't be interesting either. - Edward Bloom (Big Fish)

I have mixed feelings about the PC. The PC, I believe, is the most misused piece of highland attire. It's worn inappropriately during the day and to all type of occasions, but it is the appropriate wear to black tie events. I have one and I wear it, but only to black tie. I would love to be able to justify purchasing a sheriffmuir, but I never have occasion to wear one.

I leave in 59 days (not that I'm counting). I will be bringing my Argyll, for versatility and a 4yd'er for weight restrictions. 20 days in the MED.

For me, the PC would probably make me feel like I'm in drag. I think the Argyll may just make me feel grown up, which, at my age, may not be a bad thing.
