Okay...so where do you guys find these cantles?? I've NEVER seen one on Ebay? Is it because I don't check often enough or am I searching the wrong words?

I have only seen one on Ebay before and I did actually bid on it, but the bidding became too expensive for my tastes. It helps to set your Ebay location to "worldwide." Other than that, I find out about these cantles through word of mouth.

They seem to come up in clusters from time to time, usually on Ebay UK, Over the past couple of years I have seen about 20 of them, some described in very strange ways and covered in a multitude of skins and furs. Very rare is the correct description of them being a functioning brass MoD cantle and sporran from the early 1950's given

Thanks, Tobus. I just shipped it out today to Artificer to take its place in the queue. I'm looking at the end of August into early September until he can begin the commission. I'm jonesing big time now!
