Well, I think I'm ready. We leave on the Red Eye tomorrow morning for Denver, Montreal, Heathrow/London, and then Edinburgh to start our holiday. I know my family history, so will be looking for that. I love history, especially military history, so will be looking into that. We have mountains and lakes here in the Rockies, but, I'll still be interested in the highlands of Scotland. I like the music, looking forward to the food, will see the usual touristy things and hope to see how the common local guy lives, too. I don't know how much access I'll have to a computer while there, so you'll probably have to wait for a full report upon our return to the USA, about 2 weeks. I only have two kilts, but, I'm taking them both. Wore one to my barber shop for a haircut yesterday. The barber asked what the occassion was and I told him, "Getting a haircut!" He said, "I know you're fixin' to leave for abroad, but, why all dressed up today?" I responded, "Just goin' for a haircut!" He shook my hand.

i agree, the vibes were fantastic in endiburgh, I don't care for much shopping but my travel companion did. I loved the archeticture and I have a thing for doorways (unfortunately my tablet decided to reset while uploading my photos and lost about 500 or more) just an excuse to go back. We did a tour of Mary's Close, and an unoffical night walk of 'ghost true tales of murder and mayhem.... it was free but at the end asked for an offering. He was good and at points kitchy.

in one of the bars there was magazine that listed live music, but I would say about 90% was modern and non traditional, as was music that was played in most shops restaurants and pubs(mostly American rock and roll) very disappointed with that. Did find one in endiborogh near gray frairs bobby restaurant, very small but nice.
