Harpenden Highland Gathering 15 july 2012

Yes indeed John, I've been to Harpenden Gathering four years in the past five via Easyjet to Luton, but when I priced it for this year it was going to be too expensive.

Something has only just occurred to me! When the XMarkers gather for the 2pm photo, I will be stuck in the main Games arena throwing heavy items around!
I'm basically stuck more or less from 12:45 till 4:30pm, which sucks. Though unless they have a Lady Caber (very unlikely, and for this Games I have no way of transporting my own caber) and Lady hammer (ditto unlikely), I may very well be able to slip away from 3pm-ish... could I put in a plea to have the general XMarks photo meet-up changed to 3:15pm? That way, I can meet some of you lovely lot, and you can also rest secure in the knowledge that you're not missing any of my record-breaking throws (I jest).

We could always have 2 meet ups so that any late comers or early leavers get the choice.

I only said 2:00 to give us a starting point. I will be in the marquee most of the day, so every time an XMarker passes it will be meet-up time. So I have no objection to 3:00 (ish).

I am so envious of those of you able to get to Harpenden this weekend. In the past I have attended many of the annual Highland Gatherings there - even danced competitively there in the early 1970s! However, for reasons beyond my control, I have missed the last two or three events and now, only out of hospital a few days, I'll be missing this one too, so let the photos flow once you all get back home!

My Best Wishes to you for a truly great day on Sunday ....... I'll have everything crossed in the hope of even a brief respite in the ghastly summer weather we're enduring this year.

Just checked several weather sites for tomorrow and its allegesly gonna be dry, some clouds but sunny 18 celcius.
