Possible new project - FD leather sporran

Was just showing my eldest some pictures of full dress sporrans on Heritage of Scotland site and came across this:

Can someone let me know the rough dimensions of a FD sporran, so that I can start planning.
I rather like the one in the pic, its different from the usual fluffy bunny things, but for £70 I could make myself a few...

Martin they are approx 9x7 or thereabouts. I like those too. Commonly known as hunting or hunter sporrans. Further to our discussion on Sunday if you are making one of those count me in.

    Thanks Simon.
I'll see how well mine goes first and then do yours.

Fantastic mate, look forward to it. If yours turns out ok I wouldnt mind it being a tadge larger. As you know for the sake of proportionality being slightly larger than the average gent. We can discuss details at a later stage. Good luck with yours I am sure it will turn out great.

Ah, I knew it somehow looked vaguely familiar...liked your one.
And that gives me an idea... I could set a clan badge in the targe, or a thistle, or a stags head or...

Roll on 1630hrs when I can dash home and do some sketches.
