cultural baggage
Blu....what are you saying!!! How can anyone not feel a sense of pride wearing tartan, whether they have celtic blood or no?
Baggage?? a burden? something we are glad to put down?
dear Oh dear Oh dear I need a drink
but what a wonderful story about a woman who wants to preserve her husbands dignity, if you see this lady, let her know that there are some on the other side of the globe who are proud of her!

I was thinking of Pleats also Vince, I always thought it was fantastic that a guy with a disability was still able to wear a kilt with pride.

Graham, it's her father in law and she hasn't told anyone in the family about this yet. Heard from her on the sewing newsgroup this morning and she's almost finished with it. She expects to send it off this afternoon or tomorrow morning. She asked me to thank everyone for their suggestions and comments.
This has been rather inspiring, as I have a younger step-brother who is wheelchair-bound. In all honesty, he doesn't seem like the kilt-wearing type, but perhaps I still might be able to interest him in a kilt.
