Why couldn't there be a minimum character count required before a post can appear (or at least count againt your post count)

I think there might be one now. When I wrote a reply to my add in the sales section, I wrote ''sold'' and I told me I needed a minimum of 5x letter/digit/whatever. Is this new??

The current minimum of 5 characters per post is actually less than the 8 we had before.

Hey mookien , you're really in luck big time now by using +pi , per Steve's 5 character requirement .

Let's do the math . With pi being calculated out in today's world to 10 trillion digits , then divide by 5 , that would be 2 trillion posts .

If the + 1 post requirement for a free kilt is 10,000 posts , then that would equal this many free kilts ....... uhh , wait a minute I can't do the math anymore !

Well , I can at least give you an estimate , it's more kilts than Hamish !

Most scientific disciplines only require pi to six significant digits (3.14159) for an approximation. Anything more is just bragging.

I agree with the idea that simply posting a '***' does not really contribute to the 'conversation'. That's why my post count is relatively low despite my having joined nearly 4 years ago.
