That's most unfortunate, Richard. If you ever decide to change your mind, let me know. I shall formally invite you to an annual Clan Macpherson Gathering and Rally in Badenoch, as an honoured guest. You would be most welcomed and could blossom forth in your kilt with no fear of reprisals or inappropriate comments - especially by the locals. The Macphersons, and people in this part of the central Highlands, simply do not behave in such ways.
Kind regards,

In a word, yes. Funny enough, Susan walks a little taller, when I am kilted up too!

Suppose its a bit like wearing a tux at first.I.E. a bit stiff. Think something always looks better when relaxed and familiar with said garment. I think the rise on a kilt also tells you if your slouching, try this ,the taller you stand the looser a kilt feels because of its positioning. To planemaker, think your wife is proud to show off her man , well done.

Thank you sir, for wording this for me. I'm going to have to be one of the few from "over here" that says, no, I walk the same as always. I live in a small town, and wear a uniform most of the time, so I'm pretty much always "on display" and walk that way.
And Jock, it does sadden me knowing that the majority of the idiots you're talking about are probably my countrymen. We have a similar problem here in the southern US. Individuals getting off the bus drunk, loudy doing a bad accent, and generally assuming that they are smarter than any and all of the locals.

Maybe not when I first put the kilt on, but I think I might walk a little taller after the first few wolf whistles are given in my direction by the ladies.
