Thanks
Sounds good, mate! And you are more than welcome.
Safe travels,

Darn it, Kyle, I thought for a second we were lumping Canada in with the Highlands And then it turns out you had perfectly legitimate excuses for kilting up
And no, tundramanq, I wasn't giving him guff. Just making a link between something he posted in this thread and something he posted in a different one.

Even though I am obviously not of German descent, or Bavarian for that matter, I think Lederhosen are rather smart when worn traditionally and not in some sort of constumey/gimmicky manner than one often sees at various Oktoberfest events across America.
It is also quite interesting to note some of the similarities between traditional Bavarian attire and that of traditional Scottish Highland attire. The use of woolen fabric, leather, tweeds, stag horn, knives, leather-soled shoes, knee-length hose, various hat designs with the occassional plumes, feathers, hackles, etc. Both very rustic and somewhat rugged looking, which makes complete sense, considering the two different "mountainous cultures" behind the attire are of Highland (The Scottish Highlands and The Alps) origin.
Sorry for the thread hijack...I had to do it!
Prost!

^ Those arent so bad. I think its mainly just the reputation that lederhosen have in America. They are seen as costumey whereas a kilt is associated with Braveheart and St. Patrick's Day. I guess I am not entirely immune to that bias myself.
I love my Germans, I love my German family, but I'm not jonesin' for a pair of lederhosen. Although, I will say that the pictures that you posted arent half bad. If I saw a man wearing that, I would think he looked pretty good.

Sorry guys it's still funny. I can't count how many times I have said "never" and should have said "normally". And inevitably I get called out on it.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.
