So if you did not own a kilt and you knew nothing about kilt attire, what would you wear to the event? A suit? Blazer? Dinner suit(tux)? Jeans and T shirt? What? When you have that answer then convert that into kilt attire language and away you go.

If you want to wear it, then do it. I am going back home for a visit soon and, as it happens, the trip will coincide with my high school reunion. I'll be wearing my kilt to the reunion. I might get a few odd looks, but people will move on and get on with the reunion.

Robert, the only reason I can see as to why you should not wear the kilt to the reunion would be that the reunion is going to be a nudist convention. Other than that, kilt away.

Jock Scot,
The decision to wear a kilt has already been made. However, if I did not have a kilt to wear, I would wear a suit and tie.
Phil,
I know I'm asking a bunch of enablers whether or not I should wear a kilt. "Never ask a question to which you already know the answer." A high school reunion at a nudist colony. Hmmm.

:
Yes I understand you are wearing the kilt. What I was getting at, was a decision making process. So you would wear a suit and tie, so OK convert that into kilt attire equivalent and you have; Tweed argyll of any sensible colour, day sporran(yes it is OK to wear one in the evening considering the attire you are wearing and the event), brogues(any black tidy shoes)], plain hose, smart shirt, traditional tie, waistcoat if you wish and away you go. Simple!

Well, if the invitation says the dress code is ''Dressy''.
Maybe you should wear a dress...
(I'm only kidding)

And very smart too, well done.
Now that it is all over and given that your kilt was out of the norm right from the start, did you feel that your level of attire was appropriate? Given what you saw, would you have worn anything different? If so what?
