My experience of seeing kilted highlanders is somewhat limited but I have seen at most three in one week (besides my good self) which is less than I have ever seen in one day in Dumfries.

    Or even in Edinburgh.

Sorry. It was an honest, if ignorant guess, and not at all meant as a hit with a prod. I would have said Ojai, but you don't seem like the high-brow equine type.

So overall I would say I have tenuous connections to western wear through my involvement in agriculture and growing up in the intermountain west but you won't see me sporting a dinner plate-size belt buckle.
Ah, very good. That is reassuring. I have had a nightmare or two about a trophy buckle, basket-weave belt, a Resistol 20x and Dan Posts sporting bull spurs with jingle bobs -- worn with a kilt; probably a result of 20 years in South Texas... and far too much Mescal.

I find it hard to belive that this thread is or was considered angery. I think that everyone has been well behaved and polite mostly. I was at a site where i was given greif for answering a thread, cussed out, I don't go there anymore! I wear the kilt becuase I want to see it become (some day) common place. One of my daughters told me ' you can't wear that[kilt] it's not normal. I told her that when I was young girls and women did not wear pants or get tatoos. She still doesn't like it, but I am too old to care if someome doesn't like what I wear. I dress for me. If I didn't have to work I'd wear a kilt everyday.

Ya know those trophy buckles wouldnt look so big on my 2 1/2 inch kilt belts - Hmm
Ditto, Joe I. I don't blow in the fashion trend wind either. I like what I like and wear it. Forgive your daughter, almost all teens are not free thinking, they are sheep. Some will grow out of it - unscarred. Tramp stamp removal is a booming business.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

    Greetings,

It's been awhile since my last post, but would like put this in; options and opinions vary from person to person, in Scotland and Abroad; for me going to the kitchen to raid the fridge is always a special occasion, (though not needing a special occasion), to wear my kilt. LOL

    All the best,

    Graham

I am still chuckling about the pandas!
