I like it Steve. As an outsider I couldn't wear it, but I do like it.

Thanks, Steve.
As I mentioned in my email to you, if things work out, I will be going with Michele to the Commandant's Marine Corp Birthday Ball this November 10th, and I would love to go in a box pleat made from this tartan. If not, I will of course be in the Leatherneck.

True, however the tartan that I choose to wear, shall always be represented by one specific clan, and not any other, or any other commemorative/universal/district tartan. That's just me.
Cheers!

I'm not a Marine, and don't have a dog in this fight, but would it be possible to have one/both of these tartans woven in cotton or acrylic or something cheaper than wool to use as tablecloths, bunting, etc. at Marine functions, such as the Commandant's Ball?

When given a choice, most people will choose.

The battalion office of the Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion on Fort Meade (the unit that liaises with the National Security Agency) has window curtains in Leatherneck, I don't know what fabric.

I have an update.
I received an email from the weavers and my fabric was shipped on Tue.
I have a tracking number and it shows my fabric in customs in Vancouver.
With luck I will have the fabric by the start of Kilt Kamp.
