1st GB gold
The Women's coxless pair just got into the history books by winning the 1st Women's Rowing Gold at the Olympics.
Well done girls!
If they don't become Dames, there's gonna be a LOT of very unhappy people around the UK, methinks...

Yes, I am very proud of those British girls. Apart from the jiggery pokery on the badminton court, I think the whole Olympic thing, including competitors from all over the world, have been marvelous---------so far.

That line would mean something else in non-Commonwealth countries.
Congratulations to these young women. May they have many more years of success.

Yes congratulations, well done. The pair is the most difficult shell to row.

Watching it , bit by bit, recorded. I just saw the U.K. team set a world record in bicycling trials, then break their own record in competition.
This Olympics has been enjoyable for me to watch, there doesn't seem to be any of the nit-picking and scandal that went on in previous games (aside from the badminton).

Actually, Gary, I think she won the Heptathlon, not just the 800m. The 800 just happened to be the last event.

Not wishing to take anything away from competitors from elsewhere in the world, but I hope I will be forgiven for mentioning the UK's 6 golds-----three in one hour----- yesterday. Super Saturday? Oh yes!
