Hubby wore his kilt this past weekend
First, I want to say we don't consider the kilt a costume... but when you're an easily distracted gal who keeps putting off finishing costumes for your husband so you can sew more outfits for yourself and he feels left out, well... he tries to find *some* way to dress up and not feel left out.
Anyway, I attended my first costuming event at a hotel over the past weekend. We had classes, as well as an evening party, and a brunch the next morning. Like I said, I had my own outfits to wear, and Christopher decided to wear his kilt so he'd feel dressed up enough to match up with what a lot of us were wearing (pretty fancy garments, even for costuming -- most of us are into historical clothing even though others had fun with the theme and wore fantasy/horror type outfits).
I thought he looked very handsome, but we didn't get a lot of photos from the evening party. I wasn't feeling so great (I almost left shortly after arriving I felt so bad), and we didn't think to ask someone to take a photo of us together. I'm hoping another friend posts her photos this week. She took a lot, and is also doing edits for the photo booth we had. The room did weird things to all of our cameras (including a pro-level with lighting), so I'm not sure how many good photos will pop up.
I have one photo I took of him, and the next one is the only one I have so far that someone took of us together (I didn't know she was taking a photo until the flash surprised me ).
If you want to see all of the photos I took (the ones from the brunch the next day are my favorites), you can see them here:

His kilt is Black Stewart tartan, in a Stillwater standard kilt (the belt is also from Stillwater). A Joe Gondek sporran. The hose are from the Tartan Museum, and the garter ties I knitted. You can't see his Joe Gondek sgian dubh, but this was his first official wearing of it outside of around home.
Thanks for looking! If any other good photos of him or us together pop up, I'll add them to this thread.

Thank you! It was a lot of fun. I only wish it hadn't been so hot, and I'd been feeling a little better. I also wish I'd taken more photos as well as video. Ah well... next time, perhaps?

Oh yeah, and I thought I would also mention... when I'm wearing the white outfit? That poofy part of my hairstyle is a wig. The color match was close enough that it scared a few people that I'd teased my hair out that much. Heheheh! The longest part is my own hair, although it was in such a cranky mood from trying something a week earlier to try to get a little curl (didn't work so well). That's what happens when you experiment a little too close to a deadline.

You and hubby both look good. I like the yellow hose garters.

My husband, wearing his Isle of Skye kilt and the Celtic knot stockings I made for him. Photo from 28 July in San Diego at my Frankfurt American High School reunion. Smiling lady is my classmate Mrs. Blair, whose husband goes about kilted in Maryland.
And the photo still fails................. I give up.
