I did a looooot of shopping around before finding a kilt maker who would charge less than $150-$200 for a skirt. Xman made my skirt for me.

Unfortunately, if she is concerned about $50, I wonder if she will be able to get a tartan skirt at all? Ladies skirts arent as expensive as a mans kilt, but they are still more expensive than any other skirt I've ever owned. I guess it's just a matter of whether having something that special is worth the extra money.

Otherwise, options are sashes (which look stunning with dresses. See here: http://www.ntaonline.com/includes/media/images/sash.jpg), shawls, hats, scarves, etc. There are a few places that will offer those for a nice price

sorry I couldnt be of better help

No no, that is fantastic help. I keep telling her to just drop the coin and not fret. I'll be showing her your post specifically. It can only help. After all, I am a husband and therefore inherantly wrong.

Im a broke college student and shopped forever before finding someone willing to make a skirt for me. The other place that looked good was USAkilts. I believe they were the next best price.
