My kilt is from the Toronto Hector russell store and I'm very impressed by the quality and their service. They actually have the kilt maker residing on premises.

As episcopalscot mentioned Darren in brilliant as is the second in command Peter.

    HR kiltmaker...

Their kiltmakers at HR Canada are liscened Scottish kiltmakers -- if you do order from them, splurge and get the hand-sewn kilt -- it is well worth the money!

I can't "ditto" that comment enough. It's a HUGE difference that I NEVER would have imagined until I wore one, and examined the build. I understand the dynamics NOW of why the hand-sewns are THAT good. It's so much easier to handle the small changes needed to fit curves, pleats and solid construction. That's why the handsewns lay so daggum flat... the pleats stay put... and they hang so perfectly. It's an art that should be appreciated and experienced by all "true" kilt wearers.

    hand-sewn pleats...

Jimmy -- you also notice the difference when you pack your kilt when you travel -- the pleats hold fast!
