Great photos again Alex. I'm looking forward to this weekend in Edinburgh for some big brow culture and some low brow craic.

We were just there a week ago! Some recommend avoiding Edinburgh, especially during the Fringe, I disagree completely. Time and time again I found myself strolling around Edinburgh with this idiot grin on my face. I'd go back in a heartbeat!
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

How did you manage to find places on the Mile to take pictures, during the Fringe, when the crowds were so sparse?
You gotta love Edinburgh during the Fringe--you can see anything and everyone. *** on Deacon Brodies. Great place for a meal.

I'm afraid that, like Alex, I avoid the centre of Edinburgh like the plague during the Festival and I live in the place! A city best left to the hordes of tourists and theatre-goers, dawdling on every street corner. Admittedly there is a buzz about the place, which is fine if you have the leisure time to enjoy it, but for the poor unfortunates having to fight their way through the throngs to get to and fro work it is a bit of a pain. For the rest of the year it is not too bad - at least you can get a seat on a bus, a drink at a bar and a table in a restaurant so roll on the end of the Festival for me.

I can empathise with this from when I lived in South West London and Wimbledon fortnight was on and the traffic gridlocked.
