Here's another option. Navy Blue with saffron.

If you want thick and you don't mind a cable pattern, check out these at USA Kilts. The Woodland is a nice muted green:

At faire I generally pair greens with my saffron kilt, with black leathers. I make no attempt at any kind of historic accuracy, but hey, Padme liked it!

    Color? Lovat, Anc Green?
MacKenna there are a number of people on this forum that knit and might knit a custom pair of hose. Check the DIY section. There is also another forum for knitters (ravelry.com) that has a group for kilt hose knitters. One of these folk may be able to knit a pair.

for some nice bulky hose that are easy care and reasonably priced, look at 'piper hose' most vendors have them.

One way, regardless of vendor, to prevent hose slippage is you use sock garters. I got an inexpensive set at Sock Dreams.

That's the great thing about Saffron kilts: they look great with so many colours! Black, Green, Brown, and so on look great.

Here's some nice hose on Ebay with the thick patterned top

Since the kilt is solid/plain/selfcoloured, why not go with patterned hose? Check out these cool things!

I think the hose with the chequerboard tops, or especially the hose with the Celtic knotwork tops, would look fantastic.

I wish most Forums were like this You guys are awesome and thank you so much for all of the product recommendations and advice. I'm going to pickup a Dark Brown Leather Swordsman Vest, A Jaccobite Shirt and Green Hose (love the recommendations). I'm not a huge fan of mixing leather colors but I am going to where my Georgia Boot - Logging Boots. They're Black Mid-to long tops and they go great with my other Kilts.

Can I mix a plaid something or the other in there somewhere?
