From what I understand about denim, when it is washed/dried it does not shrink uniformly as it's made from different size yarns. Now this is just an idea but maybe running it through a dryer on no heat with a few dryer balls or tennis balls might do the trick to soften up the fabric a bit. I remember hearing something like this done with the old denim Utilikilts to soften them a bit. Hopefully someone with a bit more experience with denim kilts will be along soon...
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Ah -- the ol' tennis ball trick -- I'll try it.

BTW - Mods, I think I should have put this in Kilt Advice. Please feel free to move it as needed.

Actually I am going to move this to the Alt.Kilt dedicated section. Maybe the fine lady who actually made this kilt can shed some light on this and offer her expertise.

    Thanks for moving the thread.

I actually wonder, also, if after I lose all my weight, Jeannie can alter it to fit, or if it would be better to simply sell it off to finance a new one.

I dry my Workman Utilikilt on "Damp Dry". Then I iron the pleats. That tends to keep the pleats better. If I dont do that, I does to go tou-tou.
