Hi from North Texas

Hi Everyone!

I started researching kiltmaking on the Internet, and it led me straight to this forum, happily enough.

While I've sewn everything from custom cave diving vests to bug-eyed-bird-boo-bags (specialty covers for antique airplanes to keep the !@#$ starlings from nesting in the engine compartments) I was fascinated with my husband's kilt and the way it is designed. Since I don't want to pull apart anything, I am waiting for my copy of the wonderful kiltmaker's guide and will hopefully learn enough to sew soon. I have a feeling my handcrank sewing machine will LIKE pleats.

Hope to see some of you at the Salado Highland Games in November!

Welcome Valerie from VA. I lived in Wichita Falls for 2 1/2 years after the '79 tornado, my dad's house was flattened. I hope you enjoy the kiltmaking and you can get lots of pointers here. We are a very friendly and helpful bunch.
