BTW, it may be that Photobucket is having some technical issues right now. Chas, I can't see your photos either, and when I try to cut/paste the URL into a separate tab, I get a "service unavailable" error. For all I know, you guys may not be able to see my photos right now either, although they show up for me (from my cache, most likely)...

Okay one more time...tried linking it from my Xmarks album, but the pic was still pending... Here is a photobucket link since it doesn't seem to want to take my url.

Ha! I was just looking at that very jacket the other day, thinking how lovely it would be. I think it would be fine with almost any tartan. It's a very subtle set of colours, and the pattern is nice.

Nope, I was only seeing my pic, probably picked up from the cache. The link above does appear to work now. We are all in photobucket-link-error hell today.

I'm seeing all the photos now. But yours is still just a link. You need to use the IMG tags, not the URL tags.

Thanks, Tobus. It has been doing it to me for a couple of hours - 503 Service Unavailable. One minute it works, next it doesn't. First time it has ever let me down.

    Regards

    Chas

Houston we no longer have a problem...well at least I think so. This is from photobucket, using the insert image tag. For some reason the first 3 times I tried, it wouldn't post the image. Just sat there with the dialog window open and the OK button doing nothing.

So Tobus, you've see the jacket and are thinking yes? I am a painter, so pattern on pattern is not something I am afraid of.

I was just on the phone with Sheryl from Thistle and Shamrock and my old kilt is finished with the alteration and shipping back to me today! Can't wait to get back into it. Will probably re-premier it at the Old Globe Shakespeare festival in a week or so. Richard III...too bad it isn't the "Unmentionable Scottish Tragedy."

I have indeed seen the jacket and I'm thinking "oh hell yes!"

I'm pretty sure that's the one I was admiring, anyway. The vendor whose photo you're showing (they always use that shirt and tie to model their jackets) tends to have a lot of jackets like that one. I'm always browsing their goods to see if they have something I can't live without. But I no longer see that particular one being available. At any rate, it's a fantastic jacket and would look great, in my opinion.

That jacket would look really sharp with a kilt. Any kilt. The general "rule" is that you can mix as many patterns as you like, but don't mix different tartans. For example, a houndstooth jacket, tattersall shirt, striped/print tie and paisley waistcoat, all worn with a kilt, is perfectly acceptable. But don't mix the MacSoandso and the O'Whocares tartans.
